The Mansenberge on the municipal border between Groß- and Klein Berßen in Emsland are one of the largest burial mounds in western Lower Saxony. About 80 mounds lie together in uneven scattering. A few reach heights of about 3.0 m. The burial mound was more than twice as large, but was partially destroyed; In 1936 there were still 158 mounds counted. Presumably, this burial ground was occupied during the Bronze Age and the Early Iron Age.
