The Stadtmuseum Simeonstift Trier is a versatile city museum that presents the art and cultural history of Trier from the Middle Ages to the 21st century .
Housed in an 11th-century Romanesque monastery building next to the Porta Nigra , the museum offers a rich collection of paintings, sculptures, crafts, Coptic textiles, furniture and East Asian art objects.
The permanent collection comprises around 900 objects illustrating Trier's 2,000-year history.
