In 2015, a tactile model of the Konstantinbasilika (also known as the Aula Palatina) was unveiled in Trier, created by German artist Egbert Broerken .
This bronze scale model stands near the original structure and is designed to allow blind and partially sighted visitors, as well as other interested parties, to experience the UNESCO World Heritage Site in a tactile way . The model includes Braille inscriptions and provides detailed information about the architecture and history of the basilica.
The work on the Konstantinbasilika is part of a series of tactile models in Trier, including miniatures of the Porta Nigra, the Römerbrücke and a city model of Trier around 250 AD.
