The Marienkapelle is a lategotic chapel built by the patricians. They started the construction in 1377 and finished it in 1480. Remarkable are the portal statues of Adam en Eva. Especially how they are holding the cabage leaves covering their private parts. These statues are not the original statues. If you want to see those, you have to go to the Mainfränkisches Museum.
The chapel got destroyed in 1945.
One of the top art-pieces within the church is the "Schöne Madonna" from 1420. Several important inhabitants of Würzburg are burried here. One of the many is the big barouqe architect Neumann. You can find his tomb near the entrance of the church.
