Cottbus does not have hundreds of bridges and countless canals, but attractive paths along the Spree and the Mühlengraben right in the middle of the city. Embark on your exploration tour and start at the Tourist Information CottbusService. Through the Puschkinpark along the historic city wall, you will arrive directly at the banks of the Spree. Before the Kathe-Kollwitz-Bridge, turn left and follow the riverside path to the Sanzebergbrücke. Along the way, enjoy the tranquility, fresh greenery, and the idyllic view of the Spree. After crossing the Sanzebergbrücke, take a break at the nearby bathing area or engage in sports activities at the Spreemeile facilities. Continuing along the riverside path, you will reach the Sandower Bridge. Cross it to the right until you reach the traffic light, then turn left onto Am Spreeufer street. Following the Mühlengraben, you will reach the Goethebrücke after a few meters. You are now in the Goethepark and can reach the Blechenpark via the Blechensteg. The riverside path will now lead you directly to the Planetarium on the left bank of the Spree, passing sculptures and the Kleines Spreewehr. The Leichhardt Bridge connects the Sandow district with the Ostrower Damm. Follow the road to the right and after about 200 meters, you will reach the Ostrower Steg, which leads you to the Mühleninsel. The oldest houses in Cottbus, the Gerberhäuser, and the Brandenburgisches Landesmuseum für moderne Kunst are special sights on this hike. From the Mühlengrabenbrücke at the Gerberhäuser, it is not far to the Altmarkt with its historic buildings, restaurants, cafes, and shops. And what can be discovered along the way or with small detours?Historic old town of Cottbus* with Altmarkt, Oberkirche, city wall, townhouses, etc.Cottbus Spreemeile* with attractive fitness equipmentSchlossberg with GerichtsturmGoethepark with playground*, Amtsteich, and art museumBlechenpark and Mühleninsel with sculpturesPlanetarium*Gerberhäuser, Wilhelmsmühle, and E-WerkSpremberger Straße, Spremberger Turm*, city promenadeOur special tips for families are marked with an asterisk*.The tour follows asphalt and paved paths as well as gravel-covered stretches.Start/Finish: CottbusService/Stadthalle CottbusTour length: approx. 6 kmTrail markings: partly on the Spreeradweg and tourist signsArrival and departure to Cottbus:Public transport: with the RE 2 from Berlin or with the RB 65 from Zittau/Görlitz to Cottbus HauptbahnhofCar: from Spreewald-Dreieck A15 to exits Cottbus-West and Cottbus-Süd
