Bretten/Diedelsheim: Buchwald-Rundweg

Round trail on the tracks of the old Wengerter Weg

The Buchwald circular trail leads out of the village towards the west. The trail climbs gently along the old "Wengerter Weg", which led from Diedelsheim to Weingarten. The route runs through fields, past orchards and flower strips towards the forest. The trail is embedded in the varied Kraichgau landscape, surrounded by the neighboring communities of Diedelsheim. In the Buchwald forest, the hike runs past boundary stones until you can see the edge of the forest from afar. At a sharp fork on the left, the trail heads back into the forest and at the first fork to the right, shortly afterwards you will have an impressive view of the Erdbeerhof farm (in the Gondelsheim district). The trail continues past paddocks, through the Buchwald forest and along the Vogelberg. At Waldeck, you will be surprised again by a special view before walking through a wild, overgrown hollow path that provides interesting insights into the flora and fauna. Then it's back to the starting point.
