WT2 Streuobst-Tour

A leisurely ride along the Sulm river, through fertile fields and orchards to the sunny vineyards of the Löwenstein mountains - this tour offers plenty of variety!

The first section of this tour takes you along the Sulm river at a leisurely pace in the valley. In Obersulm-Affaltrach, you can visit the former Affaltrach Synagogue, which now houses a museum. For a few extra meters in altitude, you can take a detour at the Affaltrach railroad crossing up to the Weinlehrpfad am Zeilberg. The educational wine trail on the Zeilberg has lots of information for you, not just about viticulture.

Back on the tour, it's a little uphill from Eschenau to Wieslensdorf. But the effort is worth it. You cycle past beautiful vineyards, orchards and fertile fields.
From Wieslensdorf, you cycle relaxed again across fields, along beautiful streams to Dimbach. This is where the longest ascent to the Steinernes Tisch begins. However, the effort is definitely worth it, as the fantastic views over the vineyards around Eberstadt speak for themselves.

You should definitely take a short break at the Heuberg barbecue and rest area. The historic vineyard, which you will pass shortly afterwards, is also worth seeing. The bat cave above is home to the protected and rare "little mouse-eared bat".
You continue via Eberstadt along the Eberbach to the Weinsberg freeway junction. You ride under the impressive structure and along the Sulm river back to the starting point in Ellhofen.

Another tip: If you want to complete the tour with the family, simply ride from Ellhofen to Scheppach, get on the S-Bahn there and ride back to Ellhofen to the starting point.
