Description by the author

Half-day cycle tour of approx. 29 km around St. Ingbert in the Bliesgau biosphere reserve with few uphill sections through beautiful valleys and forests. Several attractive picnic and refreshment stops often turn the half-day tour into a full-day activity. In addition to active cyclists, the cycle tour is also suitable for families or older people with experienced legs.

The numerous ponds directly along the route are characteristic of this half-day cycle tour. In addition to the well-known Würzbacher Weiher and the Glashütter Weiher, you also cycle past several smaller ones such as the Wombacher Weiher or the Sägeweiher, for example. Each of these "wet spots" has its own charm and allows you to recharge your batteries at picnic and refreshment stops. Please note, however, that none of the ponds are open for swimming. At Wombacher Weiher, for example, you can refresh yourself at the pedal and arm Kneipp facility and have a drink at the fisherman's hut. Another highlight on the tour is the Glashütter Weiher with a large sunbathing lawn, several picnic areas, a kiosk and a restaurant that invite you to linger. At the largest body of water, the Würzbacher Weiher, you will find numerous places to stop for refreshments, such as the Hotel-Restaurant Annahof, the Café am See, the Fischerhütte, the Würzbacher Bahnhof or the "Philippslust" beer garden. Almost at the end of the tour, in the village of Oberwürzbach, a restored, historic wash house awaits you, which still has crystal-clear spring water flowing through it. The cool water is especially fun for children. The Sieben-Weiher tour is particularly suitable for arriving and departing by train due to the good public transport connections via the two train stations in St. Ingbert and Blieskastel-Niederwürzbach. The cycle tour is marked throughout with the blue-green frog logo and is characterized by its gently undulating forests and valleys in addition to the ponds.
