Starting point: Berga-Kelbra train station

From the station square, turn right at the intersection, left onto Nordhäuser Straße, right onto the street Damm.

Follow the Thyra upstream to Bösenrode until you reach the Heimkehle show cave with a restaurant.
(2.5 km) From Heimkehle, follow the Harz circular cycle path along the road towards Uftrungen. You will pass through the village. At the edge of the village, follow the Harz circular cycle path to the right towards Breitungen. (6 km)
Worth seeing: Uftrungen village church

In Breitungen, follow the main street through the village towards Roßla, then continue on the Harz circular cycle path towards Agnesdorf, crossing Nassetal to Questenberg. (13 km)

From the Queste in Questenberg, you have a magnificent view of the castle ruins and Hainrode. (18 km)

Worth seeing: medieval castle ruins, half-timbered architecture, and the wooden Roland statue

Continue on the Harz circular cycle path through Hainrode to Großleinungen (one of the oldest settlements in Mansfeld-Südharz district). Keep left at the edge of the village towards Lengefeld. (26 km)

Worth seeing: half-timbered houses, manor, St. Michaels Church

We reach Meuserlengefeld. In the village, turn right steeply uphill and at the end of this road, turn left. (29 km)

Continue downhill to Sangerhausen, after passing under the railway lines, turn left towards Sangerhausen train station. (34 km)
