The Drömling is the habitat of a rich flora and fauna. The circuit, named after the Eurasian curlew, leads over 32 kilometers through the nature reserve Ohre-Drömling to breeding sites, calm waters, across meadows, and through deciduous and mixed forests. Cyclists should not be deterred by the fact that some sections of the route are difficult to ride. An intact nature will compensate him. The birdlife alone is an experience. With a bit of luck, you can observe great crested grebes, graylag geese, and Egyptian geese at Kiessee near Sachau. Cormorants, birds of prey, and grey herons are out foraging. To the dismay of anglers. But the abundance of fish is great, and the table is abundantly laid for everyone. The song of the shy Eurasian curlews hovers over the meadows. Often you can also see foxes bounding across the meadows during the day. Twice a year, the banks of the Mittelland Canal at Piplockenburg are the stage for a spectacular show. The cranes find a resting place here by the thousands on their migration.

We start our tour from the tourist information in Mieste heading south. A narrow road leads us to the district of Wernitz. Just before we reach the main road, we turn right and take a dirt road south. At 3.2 km, we reach Dreihorst, a small forest with a shelter that offers a very good view of the wetland area called Langer Winkel.
