Wine Trail (13 kilometers): You start your tour in Bad Kösen at the train station and follow the signs for the Saale cycle path. Along the way to Naumburg/ Henne, you will find a variety of wineries and wine taverns waiting for you. Treat yourself to a glass of wine during a break and enjoy the views of the vineyard. The higher Weinbergsweg leads you over the heights of the vineyards and is exclusively reserved for hikers.

This is not a circular hiking trail. From the destination Naumburg Henne, you can hike towards Naumburg city (3.1 km to the market, 3.7 km to the train station). The route is shorter if you hike from Roßbach Hbf (500 m away from waypoint P) to Naumburg train station (2 km) or take the train (1 stop).

Alternatively, the tour can be done as a circular hiking trail (25 km) in the opposite direction:

Circular Hiking Trail (25 kilometers): Your hike starts in the almost thousand-year-old cathedral city of Naumburg and takes you into the picturesque and interesting cultural landscape along the Saale river. Right outside Naumburgs gates lies the Großjenaer Blütengrund with the Stone Picture Book, a 150 m long figure relief, and the Max-Klinger-Weinberg. In the café of the Max-Klinger-Weinberg, you can enjoy a unique atmosphere and an almost Mediterranean ambiance. On your further hike, you will reach the spa town of Bad Kösen. Bad Kösen presents itself diverse and varied – nature, history, and culture come together. In Schulpforte, a former Cistercian monastery, a school was established after the Reformation, where celebrities like Klopstock, Fichte, and Nietzsche attended. Once back in Naumburg, you should visit the world-famous landmark of Naumburg, the late Romanesque-early Gothic cathedral of St. Peter and Paul.

Circular Hiking Trail (25 kilometers) - not marked on the track, direction is opposite to Wine Trail: Naumburg Market - Hallescher Anger - Henne - Blütengrund - Großjena - Kleinjena - Roßbach - towards Saale cycle path to Bad Kösen - Schulpforte - Panoramaweg - Naumburg

(From Naumburg city center, hike towards Henne to Hallescher Anger, follow the Saale cycle path to the Henne bridge, cross to the other bank and through the Blütengrund at the Stone Picture Book, a geological outcrop in the upper Buntsandstein, to Großjena, via Kleinjena to Roßbach, along the vineyards to Bad Kösen and further to Schulpforte, following the Little Saale, ascent to the Bismarck tower and via Panoramaweg to Kösner Straße, via Michelisstraße and Lindenring back to the starting point.)
