Starting point: Stendal train station

Places of interest: historical old town with market, town hall, Roland statue, St. Marys Church, St. Nicholas Cathedral, Uenglinger Gate, Altmark Museum, Winckelmann Museum

The first section of the route takes you through Stendal City Forest, past Wischer campsite to Arneburg. (19 km)

Places of interest: art and cultural barn, local museum, St. Georges Church

Our tip: Head to the city center! Burgstraße leads to Burgberg with medieval castle ruins. The path takes you past the Fischerbrunnen. You can replenish your energy for the rest of the journey at the castle inn.

 

You head to Storkau. You can take a break at Hotel Schloss Storkau or in the beer garden (castle park). (26 km)

 Continue to Tangermünde. There are many nice street cafes in the winding alleys. (35 km)

Places of interest: historical old town, historic town hall, city gates, St. Stephans Church, castle

Near St. Stephans Church, turn into Grete-Minde-Straße at Eulenturm (Lange Straße), go straight into Ernst-Drong-Straße, turn left into Bahnhofstraße, go straight to Tangermünde train station.

by train: at least hourly from Magdeburg and at least every two hours from Uelzen/Salzwedel, Wittenberge, Rathenow, and Braunschweig/Wolfsburg, as well as hourly (except at 10:50 a.m. Mon-Fri) from Tangermünde

by bus: at least every two hours from Havelberg with bus route 900

Departure from Tangermünde

by train: hourly towards Stendal (except at 10:37 a.m. Mon-Fri), from there at least every two hours in all directions, towards Magdeburg at least hourly

by bus: at least every two hours towards Havelberg with bus route 900
