SD3 - Erkundungstour durch Sternenfels

This hike allows you to explore the beautiful district of Sternenfels. Vineyards, orchards, forest paths and the viewpoint on Augenberg await you.

The exploration tour starts in the old town center of Sternenfels. Here you will find the historic town hall and the old Sandbauernstube. The path leads from the village center to the edge of the village to the Sandberg. In the past, Sternenfels was known for its sand farmers who mined sand from the Sandberg. The hiking trail then leads through vineyards and past orchards again.Later, the hike leads through a wooded area and then returns to the vineyards. At the Katzensprung you will find the source of the Kraichbach, a 55 km long river that flows into the Rhine in Ketsch. The crowning glory is the viewpoint on the Augenberg just before the parking lot. From here, the view stretches as far as the Odenwald to the north, the Palatinate Forest to the west and the Black Forest to the south-west.
