Get to know some of Haslach's historic buildings and beautiful old town corners on a short tour of the historic half-timbered old town.
Haslach is a very old town, with evidence of the first settlement dating back to Roman times. Haslach experienced its first heyday in the 13th century when the small town, seat of the mining judge, became the center of an important silver mining district. From the 17th century, Haslach continued to develop as a market town. Its market streets and squares, which were wide for the time, have been completely preserved to this day and, together with the narrow residential and artisan streets, give the picturesque old town center, which consists almost exclusively of baroque half-timbered houses, a unique flair. Haslach is a member of the "Deutsche Fachwerkstraße", the ivory league of German towns. With almost 60 specialist stores, bistros, cafés and restaurants in the area of the medieval town, which is just 300 meters in diameter around the town walls, Haslach is a lively destination in a class of its own.
