Description by the author

An easy and varied tour of approx. 40 km on mostly well-maintained paths through the northern Saarpfalz district. The only climb to WaldPark Schloss Karlsberg at the start of the route makes you sweat briefly. The half-day tour conveys the contrasts between the idyllic Blies floodplains, the district town of Homburg with some industrial plants and the forests near Jägersburg. A visit to the Beeder white storks rounds off the "garden-filled" tour.

Characteristic of this circular tour are the four enchanted "gardens with history", which are waiting to be discovered. You start at the train station in Homburg and head straight onto the Saarland cycle path to Homburg-Sanddorf. The only ascent there to Karlsberg will make you sweat for a short while and test your fitness. Once you reach the top, you can see the ruins of the former orangery in the WaldPark Schloss Karlsberg - the first "garden with history". The tour continues along the valley past Karlsberger Hof and back onto the Saarland cycle path through Homburg's Königsbruch via Homburg-Bruchhof and Jägersburg to Schlossweiher with Gustavsburg - the second "garden with history". Continue in the direction of the Fun Forest climbing park and on the cycle path alongside the road straight on to Kleinottweiler. The next stop at a Kneipp facility, for example, can be made at the Hotel Hochwiesmühle in Bexbach before continuing towards the Bexbach flower garden - the third "garden with a story". The next beautiful section of the tour leads via Niederbexbach to Kirkel-Limbach, where the cycle path follows the signposted Adebar loop. Passing Kirkel-Altstadt, the route continues into the beautiful Blies meadows towards the Beeder biotope and the Beeder fishing hut with its native white storks. On the last section, the tour leads to Homburg-Schwarzenacker and the Roman Museum with its beautifully landscaped baroque garden - the fourth "garden with history". It is only a few more kilometers through the Beeder Mastau via the pedestrian zone in Homburg to the train station.
