KR1 Heuchelberg-Runde

Once through four "stream valleys" around the Heuchelberg, a well-known Württemberg vineyard.

On this tour, you will always be accompanied by the wet element along the Katzenbach, Leinbach, Zaber and Himmelsbach streams. This means you always stay "in the river" and circle the Heuchelberg once. Despite its length, this route is also suitable for everyday cyclists with an average level of fitness as a varied day tour.Start your tour in the picturesque half-timbered town of Eppingen and follow the signs for "KR 1 - Heuchelberg Runde". The Elsenztal and Kraichgau-Hohenlohe trails first take you through the gently rolling hills of the Kraichgau region.

You may want to take the opportunity to enjoy a delicious farm ice cream or sample homemade cakes in the farm café along the way - there are plenty of places to stop along the way.

At Leingarten, the Heuchelberg descends into the Neckar valley and you change from the Kraichgau to the Zabergäu. If your calves are still working hard, you can tackle an extra ascent on foot to the Heuchelberger Warte and let your gaze wander over the Zabergäu and Kraichgau.

Past the Nordheim Town Hall Park, the journey takes you through the home of Theodor Heuss. Follow the Zaber river to the Ehmetsklinge, a bathing lake and reservoir at the end of the valley. If you haven't had enough of the wet element, take a dip in the cool water here

You have one last big climb to the starting point before you can let yourself roll down to Eppingen.
