Description by the author

Through the Havelland and the Fläming - bishops, castles and bathing lakes: The Historic Town Centres 4 cycle route starts in Potsdam and leads through Brandenburg an der Havel, along the glittering Havel lakes, to Ziesar Castle and into the forests of the High Fläming with Wiesenburg Castle and Rabenstein and Eisenhardt Castles. Brandenburg Cathedral tells of the conquest of the Mark, Ziesar Castle Chapel of the luxurious life of the bishops, many a towering castle tower of uncertain times and the town of Jüterbog of medieval princely meetings. Past Zinna Monastery, on through the asparagus town of Beelitz, the tour ends in the middle of Potsdam's Havel landscape.
The tour can be divided into short, family-friendly stages. Along the way, bathing lakes and outdoor pools, a treetop trail and barefoot park, asparagus and fruit farms entice you to take happy breaks. City maps and stage maps help you find your way.
