Reinhardswald-Radweg

Varied cycling fun awaits you on the Reinhardswald cycle path: from the city center of Kassel, the path leads you through the fairytale-like Reinhardswald forest to the moated castle of Wülmersen.
The 50-kilometre route takes you through the diverse landscape, which is characterized by long oak avenues and sweeping views. From the city of Kassel, the cycle route first leads via Vellmar and Espenau to Immenhausen. This town with a long tradition of glassmaking is home to one of the few glass museums in Germany, which is well worth a visit.
From Immenhausen, the route leads over some long climbs in the direction of Sababurg. It is worth taking a break at the unique Sleeping Beauty Castle to admire the grounds (currently only partially open at weekends due to construction work), before the cycle path leads to Gottsbüren with its impressive pilgrimage church.
The last part of the Reinhardswald cycle path runs through the idyllic Holzape valley. You can enjoy the picturesque nature and tranquillity along the longest stream in the Reinhardswald before reaching the moated castle of Wülmersen, where you can visit the LandMuseum and the Mehlschwalbe café, depending on the season, and reward yourself with delicious food at the end of your cycle tour.
