City tour Frankfurt (Oder) - Słubice: Historical search for traces

The city tour leads to the origins of the city of Frankfurt (Oder), along the Peace Church located there and the nearby Lenné Park. The city tour begins at the historic marketplace directly at the German-Polish Tourist Information. During a visit to the Tourist Information, tourists can receive firsthand tourist and cultural information. Passing by St. Marys Church, with its unique stained glass windows and wonderful views, the Lenné Park is reached. The second oldest civic park in Germany was designed according to the plans of Peter Joseph Lenné and offers a green oasis in the middle of the city. The city archive houses the historical memory of the city, compiled in collected works and exhibitions dating back to the founding in the 13th century. Upon reaching the end of the park, a plaque commemorates the founding of the venerable Viadrina University.The route leads to the Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Concert Hall. The former Franciscan Church is home to the Brandenburg State Orchestra and offers diverse musical enjoyment and various exhibitions.On the Oder River, there is a small museum dedicated to the victims of political violence during the National Socialist dictatorship.
