Hike Trebitz-Beesenstedt-Kloschwitz

Short description

Hike through a region characterized by fruit plantations, above the Kloschwitz stream.

Description

The hike starts at the hiking car park on the Saale River in Trebnitz. A viewing platform overlooking the Saale, information boards, and a rest area are the ideal starting point.
 
Up the hill on a narrow forest path, on the clearing with a view of the Saaletal, sightlines extend all the way to Friedeburg. Through fields, the heap of the former potash mine Johannashall becomes visible.
 
The idyllic village of Beesenstedt awaits with a castle. The Kloschwitz stream once powered the ice mill and the Kloschwitz mill. Fragments along the wayside give a hint of where the mills once clattered.
 
Old fruit plantations alternate with shady deciduous forests and steep valleys. From Kloschwitz, you hike directly along the Saale back to Trebitz.
 
You can combine this hike with a hike into the Kühlbachtal or Stengelholz via the Himmelsleiter.
