To circle Hermannswerder on the Havel uphill. The canoe tour (suitable for beginners) is a very popular and easily manageable route on the Havel towards Potsdam. Picturesquely, you can see from the water the Caputh Castle nestled between trees and shrubs. From the boat rental Caputh Boote (www.caputh-boote.de, Yellow Wave) head east towards Templiner See, pass under the railway bridge, past the Potsdam Olympic Training Center towards Potsdam Center, past the ferry on Kiewitt and further until the Nikolaikirche is visible and ahead the Potsdam warehouse district. Here turn right to circle the island of Hermannswerder. You drive through the flat, narrow Judengraben, past the island hotel into Templiner See, under the railway bridge again and past Forsthaus Templin towards Caputh Castle to the starting point.Distance: approx. 13 km - 4-5 hoursStart/Finish: Boat rental Caputh BooteOnly suitable for muscle-powered watercraft.Stops for mooring:Kongresshotel with outdoor barKombüse No.22 at Potsdam Yacht HarborSeerose Potsdam (side trip)Inselhotel PotsdamWaldbad Templin / Braumanufaktur Forsthaus TemplinCaputh Castle
