Kraichgau-Stromberg: Burgen-Tour

This 55-kilometre tour is a journey back in time to the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. You will explore an area rich in castles and palaces.

In return, you have many viewpoints with an unforgettable panorama.The tour starts in Angelbachtal. There is an impressive moated castle in the town, but no train station. If you want to travel by train, you can start the cycle tour in another town, for example in Sinsheim or Waibstadt.

The route runs through beautiful countryside. You cycle across wide fields and through dense forests. The highlight of the tour in two respects is Steinsberg Castle. It sits enthroned on a former volcanic cone, the highest elevation in Kraichgau. It is also known as Castel del Monte due to its pentagonal shape.On the hilly tour, you will always find idyllic, flat sections, such as along the Elsenz river or on a former railroad line. You cycle through many small villages where you can sample regional delicacies. All in all, an enchanting and varied route.</p
