On the trail of miners and sailors, Ahoy! In the past, the new lakes were still open-cast mines, where gigantic excavators dug huge holes in the ground to extract lignite. The former coal mines are now slowly filling with water. A holiday paradise with more than 20 lakes is emerging. On this puzzle bike tour, the transformation of the landscape from a mining region to a holiday region can be experienced firsthand. Small and large attractions can be discovered, such as an excavator shovel or a lock keepers house, where interesting facts about lignite mining, excavated areas, and the flooding of the lakes are playfully learned. This way, you will find out how miners have become sailors. At eight stations along the route, tricky puzzles (in the flyer) are incorporated, which should be solved alone or together with the family. The puzzle bike tour invites families with children of primary school age to experience the spectacular transformation from a mining area to a water paradise on a bicycle.
