Circular Trail in Elsenau Forest

Culture and nature come together on this tour. You can first see Joachimsthal’s cultural highlights and then enjoy a relaxed hike through fields and meadows to the unspoilt forest. Halfway along the trail, you can take a detour to marvel at the biggest pines. If you like lakes and swimming, you are in the right place here because Lake Werbellinsee is within visual range.

How to get there: NEB RB 63 from Eberswalde or Templin, RE 3 and RB 24 from Berlin, car via the A11 motorway

Route description: The tour begins at Schorfheide-Info in Joachimsthal via Joachimsplatz to the turn off for the Lake Schulsee circular trail and the old avenue of apple trees. First you hike through arable landscape, then through magnificent pine forest, past the Michenwiesen meadows and dunes dotted with pines in the direction of the north tip of Lake Werbellinsee and along the cycle path from Seerandstrasse back to the town.
