Albsteig Schwarzwald Etappe 3: Wittenschwand - St. Blasien Genießertour

Narrow, partly pre-alpine paths with stony slopes, wonderful views over the route covered, the Albst reservoir and the Windberg gorge await you on this stage.

From the Dachsberghalle in Wittenschwand, you hike along a quiet forest path to Arnoldsloch and continue along an old smugglers' path to Höll. Here you climb the Bildstein rock, which offers a sweeping view over the southern Alb valley. The trail descends back down into the Alb valley over some steep sections, where it leads to the Alb reservoir. A water treading area invites you to refresh yourself before you walk halfway around the lake on natural paths and over a long footbridge. From the Albtalstraße, a narrow, idyllic path leads over the Guckauchenloch and the Fünfwegscheid past small streams and rocks up to the Häusern sports field. Continue along the rocky path into the village. Paths and trails lead to the Windberg waterfall, from where you walk past impressive rocks to the junction of the Albsteig trail to St. Blasien. From here, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the town before tackling the short stretch to the town center.
