The approximately 33 km long signposted circular route through the municipality of Blender starts and ends at the Blender Mill. The mill, built in 1872, is a gallery Dutch windmill, which was however shut down early and gradually fell into disrepair. The mill was restored starting in 1997 and was finally handed over to the Blender Harvesting and Milling Association in 2004. Since 2005, the mill has been an official branch office of the Thedinghausen Registry Office.Cross the street and drive along Blenders main street into the village of Blender. Shortly after, turn left onto Auf den Linteln street on the left side and head directly towards Blender Church. This is the seat of the parish under which the church communities of Blender, Intschede, and Oiste are united. The current main building was constructed in 1827. Three steel bells have been ringing over the tower hall since 1956. In the outdoor area, you can find memorials for the victims of both World Wars, as well as the Luther Stone, erected in 1917 for the 400th anniversary of the posting of the theses. The Furtwängler organ is the highlight of Blender Church and is under monument protection.Pass the church into Hackstraße and then turn left at the end of the street into Mühlenberg street and follow it to Blender See. The lake is part of the old Weser riverbed and is a popular bathing spot and a beautiful rest area in summer. Turn left behind the lake, passing by Glockenkuhle and a historic boundary stone, and follow the road until you reach Am Zaaster street. Continue straight ahead, passing by another historic boundary stone. These stones from 1613 are two of a total of 33 stones that for many years marked the border between the Archdiocese of Bremen and the County of Hoya. This border stretched from the Weser across from Hutbergen to the Eyter near Hörsten (south of Schwarme). By turning left at Mühlenwiese, you will reach the estate of the Hesse family in Varste with its historic garden. There is also a boundary stone located there.Continue along the street passing by noteworthy granaries and Varster See until you reach the church in Oiste. The Oiste Church was first mentioned in a document in 1420. The current building was erected in 1832. Next to the main entrance of the church, there are three childrens gravestones from the 18th century adorned with childrens portraits.Next, drive to the rest area at L 203 and then turn left in front of the dike towards Amedorf. In Reer, turn right into Osterfeldweg and continue towards the Weser dike until you reach Intscheder Dorfstraße. On the right, you will see the Weser Dam with the Langwedel power plant built in 1958. At the Flotten Weser ship mooring, you can also continue your tour on a ship towards Bremen or Nienburg. In Intschede, you will reach the church in Intschede via An der Aue street. Right next to it is the Stöver farm with delicious farm ice cream. There has been a church in Intschede since 1120. The current building was constructed in 1819 in a classicist style. The copper-covered tower roof, the red paint, and the black slate of the roof give the impression of a farm church, which is further enhanced by the surrounding deciduous trees. The altarpiece is a copy of Leonardo da Vincis famous Last Supper painting. Then continue to the restaurant Browiede located directly on the Weser. From the former tavern of the water level observer Christoph Kelling, a approximately 2.5 km long walking path leads through the former harbor basin on the Weser towards the Weser Dam and past the Intscheder farm ice cream back to the restaurant Browiede.Drive through the beautiful Wesermarsch with a view of the Weser passing by the historic Siel Intschede to Nottorf. Behind the dike, turn left into the unpaved Lindweg and drive past greenhouses to Wulmstorf to Hofcafé Arndts Meyer on L 203. In a sharp left turn, turn right towards Hiddestorf and drive past the half-timbered buildings with thatched roofs of Waltring farm to Gahlstorf and then further to Holtum-Marsch to the impressive Gerkenshof of the Klinker family with a two-story granary. From there, drive along Heidstraße passing by the wind turbines towards Laake/Seestedt. If you continue along this road, you will eventually reach Blender See again and passing by Blender Hauptstraße past Pizzeria Mama Mia and Restaurant Fu Thai back to the starting point at Blender Mill. You can also find the Blender Tour on Komoot.Safety instructions: Throughout the tour, it is advised that the cycle paths be used at your own risk.
