The hike from Reihersee to Bismarck Tower is attractive in every season. On the ridge, limestone comes to the surface at some points, offering a direct view into the millions of years. Numerous deadwood provide a habitat for mushrooms, snails, spiders, and wood-dwelling insects. For example, the tinder fungus with its hoof-shaped fruiting bodies is very common. In spring, we are delighted by the early bloomers here, in summer by numerous insects, and in autumn by a variety of fruits that reveal the various forms of plant distribution.
