Circular hiking trail Butterfly

As a starting point, the Shepherds Gate (P) at the village exit towards Rhüden is recommended. We walk, according to information on a hiking map, uphill, on an asphalt road, along the slope of the Hebers, later on a gravel path, until we reach the edge of the forest in front of the Trompeter. Here we follow the trail markings to the southwest, turn on a narrow hiking path to the north at the corner of the Clausberg, and soon reach the Gerd Heine Path, which leads us through the Heberberg Nature Reserve. Here in the former quarries for the construction of the monastery, a unique plant community can be seen. Passing by Beckersruh, we continue on the Heber Ridge until we reach a bench on the left where the decision must be made to either go half-left through the nature reserve or straight ahead along the bush edge. The latter path offers good views of Lamspringe. But both paths converge again, pay attention to the trail markings, and via the Hebergatze with the monastery complex at our feet, we return to the starting point.
