On the trail of the Senne streams - bike tour through the heath landscape in Schloß Holte-Stukenbroc

You start at the Ems Adventure World near the Ems sources in the Moosheide nature reserve in Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock. The picturesque valleys of the Senne streams Wapel, Roden, and Furlbach, meadows, fields, and heathland characterize the landscape. Through Hövelriege and Liemke, you reach the edge of the Holter Forest, which you leave cycling towards Kaunitz. At the Markuskapelle, the path leads through a small forest, briefly through the industrial area, and past the Grasmeerwiesen nature reserve, a refuge for rare bird species.

Through quiet residential areas, you finally reach the old town center of the city of Verl with the historic buildings around St. Anna's Church and the Heimathaus, which is now used by the local heritage association for exhibitions and cultural events. The route continues through the meadows of Öl- and Landerbach towards the Holter Forest. At the edge of the forest lies a historic water mill, today's Mill Café, where cyclists can recharge. The Holter Forest is the largest nature reserve in the city of Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock. Enjoy the diverse, light mixed forest. Near the hunting lodge, you can relax in the beer garden of the Holter Schlosskrug. Then continue through busier, more urban areas, which you quickly leave behind. Cycling leisurely through fields and meadows past the Wildlife Zoo and Stukenbrock amusement park, you return comfortably to the Ems Adventure World.
