R 22: Rheda-Wiedenbrück departed - From old manor houses, country estates and farming communities

The tour starts at the "Jägerheim", a small privately run hotel. Those who love nature will get their money's worth here, as the route leads through the Stadtholz, a versatile and popular recreational area. The journey continues past fields and meadows of the Bokeler Dorfheide. Enjoy the peace far away from the hustle and bustle.
The first highlight of the tour is the magnificent Haus Aussel, a former manor house that impresses with its beautiful location and extraordinary architecture. The over 400-year-old building, after its renovation, is one of the most beautiful examples of wood carving art and shows richly decorated half-timbered structures.
Back in the saddle, the path now leads through the small farming communities of Batenhorst and St. Vit with its magnificent baroque church. Through the Marburg area, the journey continues to another architectural highlight - the Haus Bosfeld, a small castle. After numerous changes of ownership, it belongs to the princely family of Bentheim-Tecklenburg and served as the residence of the princely family for a long time.
Heading towards Rheda, you continue your journey - numerous pretty farmhouses gather in the northernmost farming community of Rheda-Wiedenbrück.
You will soon reach the impressive and over 900-year-old Gut Schledebrück across the Ems. Here, your gaze should rest on the picture post at the portal, as it documents a piece of the estate's history.
After just two kilometers, the route now takes you to the picturesque Linteler See, and if you are lucky, you can admire sailors and surfers here before heading back to your starting point.
