SHS 2: Holter Wald and Liemker Wiesen | local cycle path in SHS

Directly at the starting point of the tour you will find the adventure trail Holter Wald, where you can discover a lot with your whole family. How far does each animal jump, how does a tree phone work, how do insects live... these are three of the many questions that you can actively answer at various stations.
Cycling through Holter Wald with its sometimes rare species in the plant and animal kingdom, you reach the open Sennelandschaft of the district Liemke. Slowly you approach more closed development, initially dominated by fields and horse pastures and individual farms. The Wapelaue is attractive for tired legs, a partly renaturated, partly set up as a paddling pool stream meadow, which also offers children plenty of space to play away from the roads. Once you reach the center, you should not miss the award-winning maypole (from May to October). At the Liemker Frischehütte (Kattenheide, very close to the path) you can get products directly from the farm at your next stop.
From Liemke, the bike tour leads to the busier district of Schloß Holte. You have to cycle a good kilometer on the cycle path along the district road. Once you arrive at Holter Kirchplatz, you are in the middle of an EXPO project. A center with gastronomy, shops, service providers, and romantic apartments was created in 2000 on an industrial wasteland.
Now it is not far back to the starting point of your tour. Just a few hundred meters more, and you are back at the edge of the forest where you started. By the way, a visit to the adventure trail Holter Wald is also worth it as a conclusion!
