Leave the parking lot at Rotbachsee towards the sports and tennis courts and follow the marked A1 paths towards Lingelmannstraße until you reach the Rotbachwanderweg. At the transition to the Rotbachwanderweg, you will see the historical fragments of a former barracks camp that housed Western foreign workers between 1939/40 and 1945, mainly from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Italy. The preserved basement concrete foundation served as an air-raid shelter in the camp.
The path continues directly along the Rotbach through a wooded area to Rotbachsee. This lake, located in the midst of nature, not only serves as an idyllic spot but also fulfills a specific water management function. It acts as a reservoir and regulates the flow of Rotbach, especially in the case of high water.
