Circular hike Allagen

The starting point of the hike is the Haus Dassel in Allagen (1), whose parking lot is reached after turning off the B 516 after about 70 meters. The parking lot at Haus Dassel is also an ideal starting point for bike tours on the Brilon-Möhnesee cycle path. From this parking lot, we hike in a southerly direction on the 'Victor-Röper-Straße' for about 300 meters to the Triftweg (2) and follow it for a distance of about 600 meters to the 'Höhenweg'. This stretch is quite challenging as two-thirds of it consists of a natural path and about 80 meters in altitude have to be tackled. We follow the 'Höhenweg' in a westerly direction for about 350 meters to the 'Efeuweg' (3) just before the sports field and then turn into a natural hiking trail opposite, which we hike steadily uphill for 1.6 km to the 'Alten Rennweg'. Once at the top, we can take a first break at a wooden hut (4). Then we follow the 'Alten Rennweg' in an easterly direction for about 1.2 km to the intersection 'Hirschberger Weg' (5) and hike towards Sichtigvor for about 1.5 km. There we turn left (6) and hike into the valley for about 10 minutes, following the stream towards Sichtigvor. At the junction 'Redderweg', we follow this until the intersection point 'Zur Vogelstange' (7). This path leads us about 600 meters uphill to Sichtigvor's Vogelstange. Once at the top (8), we turn right towards Allagen, cross the K 27, and follow the 'Wisor' (9) downhill towards Haus Dassel. From the 'Wisor', we can also reach the parking lot through the Dassel Park.
The distance of this hiking tour is about 8 km and one should be quite fit. In total, about 160 meters in altitude have to be overcome, and one should plan for a two-hour hike. Currently, at many points along this tour, one can see the dramatic spruce dieback due to infestation by bark beetles.
