Alpine tour at the Lower Rhine - an idyllic tour along the sights

The Alpen Tour is a circular route of around 38 km in the main route area and very entertaining in a typical Lower Rhine landscape. On this Alpen Tour, you only have to "conquer" one mountain - the Schmuhlsberg - a Lower Rhine hill range. What makes this route very enjoyable are the numerous sights and leisure facilities of the municipality along the route. Side routes offer additional attractions.
Where the route starts does not matter. It is not structured chronologically and can therefore be approached from any point. Nevertheless, we start in the town center of Alpen, a cozy place with nice shops and cafes. The appropriate bike route map for this tour is available at the town hall or at the motorhome site in Alpen. On the back of the map, the numbered sights are explained. The route mainly runs on paved bike paths and side streets, mostly away from car traffic. It is scenically attractive, quiet, and very suitable for a family outing.
