H6 Circular hiking trail "Forest areas"

You can start this circular route with the marking H6 at any point you like. A good starting point is located southeast of the Mühlencenter in Herdecke an der Ruhr. The bus stop Hengsteyseestraße is 200 meters away, where all Herdecker bus lines converge, and Herdecke train station is just one kilometer away.

If you start heading north, turn left towards Mühlencenter first, then head north to explore the heights of "Nacken". After the hiking parking lot at "Asternweg", follow a forest path to Kemnade and then descend to "Hickenstein". From the street "In der Schlage", take the stairs to Bergweg towards "Weg zum Poethen". Shortly before the junction, turn left in front of the local allotment garden into the forest of Westende. A loop of almost eight kilometers in the forest follows until you reach the "Weg zum Poethen" again. From here, head east and then through Kirchende to the western end of the Mühlenteiche.

Finally, leave the stream beds towards Rewe in Kirchende. Walk past Gut Kallenberg via the footpath to the south. Cross the "Ender Talstraße" and reach the city center via the streets "Walter-Freitag-Straße" and "Mühlsteinskuhle".

Through the Bachviertel, there is another loop passing by "Sonnenstein" and then back to the Ruhr at Bleichstein. Head right until you reach the starting point of the hike.
