Adventure Trail Hilchenbach

Close to the village of Ruckersfeld, the 4.5 km long adventure trail Hilchenbach leads through meadows, fields, and the typical Hauberge of the Siegerland region. 15 panels provide information and insights about stories along the way: the forest as a place of relaxation, supplier of raw materials, or habitat for animals and plants. Many panels offer additional small interactive activities such as searching for Hauberg symbols on trees, feeling tree bark, or looking through a telescope.
Benches and seating areas along the way invite you to linger or observe. Because there are no major differences in altitude to overcome and the circuit largely runs along paved paths, it is particularly suitable for families with children.
The trail, still known to many Hilchenbachers as a cultural-historical educational path, starts at the Oberbach hiking car park (at an altitude between Herzhausen and Haarhausen) and is consistently marked with a fir tree as a trail marker. Those who haven't been there for a long time will be amazed at how the landscape has changed due to the bark beetle and what views have emerged.
