The cliffs of Hohenstein in Hessisch Oldendorf are considered one of the highlights in the hiking area of the western Weser Uplands. Once, Germanic tribes, Cherusci, and Saxons worshipped their gods at this mysterious, rocky cliff from ancient times. Do not miss the sight of the cliffs plunging 50 meters into the depths, which will give you goosebumps when looking down. It is better to focus on the distant view and enjoy the magnificent panorama over the lovely Weser Valley. The starting point for this hike is the parking lot "Baxmannbaude," near which you will also find the forest inn Baxmannbaude in the Blutbachtal valley.
