Since the signposted hiking trail 23 runs on wide forest roads, the round trip lasting about 1.5 hours is also manageable with children. The approach to the starting point is via the road "Forstweg" in the district of Salzgitter-Salder. This road leads in switchbacks to the edge of the forest. Behind the houses there, a gravel road on the left leads to the hiking parking lot next to the Hasselberg barbecue area. From the parking lot, you then have to walk back to the houses along the driveway to enter the forest there and take the access path to the actual start of circuit number 23.
