Wülfrath-Düssel to Velbert-Neviges
We start the stage in Düssel and quickly reach the highly romantic valley of the Holzer Bach. A true gem of the neanderland STEIG is this section of the trail. We quickly reach the height near Wülfrath and the Alte Kölnische Landstraße.
We pass under the highway 535 and walk through a beautiful forest up to the source of the Düssel. From there, there are still two valleys to cross, then we stand on a mountain spur next to the ruins of Burg Hardenberg - only earth walls are visible.
We descend into the pilgrimage city of Velbert-Neviges with many dining options, the concrete pilgrimage church, Schloss Hardenberg, and above all the legendary miniature golf course of the "Hardenberg Pötter", the multiple German miniature golf champions.
