Description by the author

The "Historischer Landweg" connects Königs Wusterhausen with Mittenwalde and further with Rangsdorf on historical tracks. Schenkendorf is reached along the Notte Canal, one of the first navigable waterways in the Mark Brandenburg. The coal mine settlement still knows about the importance of mining. In Krummensee, a detour to the beach should be planned, especially in the summer months, before continuing towards Gallun.
The route is very appealing because of its near-natural surface through woods and meadows. Once you have arrived in the Paul Gerhardt town of Mittenwalde, it is worth visiting the museum at the salt market or climbing the 67-meter-high church tower. The St. Moritz Church thus has the highest accessible church tower in Brandenburg and offers an excellent panoramic view over Mittenwalde and the surrounding nature.
