On the shortest way to the highest peak of the Harz Mountains - the Brocken. The signposted hiking trail starts at the parking lot "Ehrenfriedhof" on the B4 between Torfhaus and Oderbrück and leads relatively flatly past the Ehrenfriedhof. Following the signs, you reach the Dreieckiger Pfahl, the border between Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. The Kolonnenweg then continues quite steeply on paved ground, which is also suitable for inexperienced hikers. Arriving at the tracks of the Brocken Railway, the hike continues along the Gothe Trail next to the tracks until you reach the Brockenstraße. The whole hiking trail is surrounded by beautiful nature and great views over the Harz Mountains.
