Mill route: Old land on the Elbe River cycling tour

Wind and water mills are the charming intermediate destinations of this tour. The Hanseatic city of Stade invites you to take a walk through the historic old town with its richly decorated merchant houses before or after the bike tour. Passing by the "Open-Air Museum on the Island" with the Bockwindmill Stade, you will head to Grefenmoor. Already visible from afar: the silhouette of the Windmill Amanda. On the further journey through Heinbockel and Hagenah, the wide moor landscape gives way to the gently rolling hills of the Stader Geest. In the center of Fredenbeck, idyllically located by the lake, is the Fredenbecker Watermill - visit by appointment. With a small detour on the way, another water mill can be visited in Deinste, before returning to Stade through the Schwingetal.
