Moorroute: Old Land on the Elbe River Cycling Tour

Through the vast Kehdingen Moor
Oederquart is the starting point of this tour. Those who want to relax before or after the bike tour can use the barefoot path "Von-Korffscher-Weg" with ten stations of various ground materials. On the way to Hamelwörden, the route passes by the historical Thingstätte "Schinkelplatz", which has been a meeting place since the early Middle Ages. Past Hamelwördener Moor, the route follows along the 3rd canal, where peat is still being extracted today and the Kehdingen Moor Diploma is offered as a group experience (registration at Tourist Information Kehdingen). Wolfsbruchermoor and Dornbuschermoor are additional stations on the tour. From Gehrden, a detour can be made to the Heimathof Hüll. The farmstead from the mid-19th century is still preserved in its original state, visits by appointment. Back on the Moor Route, the tour continues on the enchanted Rönndeich, also known as the German Crime Road, to the Oste. In Osten, the suspension ferry connects the two sides of the river. The technical cultural monument was awarded as a historical landmark of engineering art. At Achthöfener Deich, the tour leaves the Oste and leads through the vast moor landscape back to Oederquart.
