Circular hiking trail Kalkar - Haus Horst

The tour starts at the tourist information office in the city center of Kalkar and leads over the Altkalkarer Straße out of town. Behind the Pankratius Church, you leave the buildings largely behind and soon reach the wooded area of the von-Seydlitz barracks. Along the military grounds and through meadows and fields, always on well-passable, paved paths, you head towards Haus Horst. The mansion, now used as a senior residence, has a café located in the park area of the complex. A house-owned confectioner conjures up a rich cake buffet there daily. The path then leads along a spacious enclosure with donkeys and allows for a view of the mansion and the extensive park with old trees. Via an avenue, you leave the Haus Horst area and walk from Tillerfeld along the avenue cycle path back towards the city center. Through winding alleys and small paths, you reach the starting point of the tour at the marketplace of Kalkar.
