Along the way, you will find churches, megalithic tombs, old farmhouses, and family attractions such as Swin-Golf, tractor museum, or tree-climbing path. You start in Bad Bevensen and reach Römstedt with its St. Matthias Church. The current church building is probably the second one at this location. Despite dilapidation and many renovations, it is almost preserved in its original state. The organ from 1876 and the bells from 1707 and 1975 still ring today. Open upon request, Tel. 05821-41251. From Römstedt, the tour continues to Niendorf I. Here, there is a lot to experience for families and groups: In the tractor museum at Hof Scharnhop, you can see old agricultural machinery and historic tractors (March-November, daily 8am-6pm) and at the Swingolf course, a type of fun golf is played without prior knowledge, Tel. 05807-207. Afterwards, you cycle through idyllic villages like Gienau, Siecke, Becklingen, Aljarn. Halfway between Becklingen and Siecke lie megalithic tombs from the Funnel Beaker culture (around 4200-2800 BC). In Aljarn and Siecke, there are beautiful old farmhouses and stately farmsteads. Via Eddelstorf, you reach Altenmedingen. The church there dates back to the 13th century and was a stopover for the Medingen Monastery before it settled in today's Medingen in 1336. The "row altar" from around 1480 with a crucifixion attachment from the 17th century is worth seeing. Open upon request, Tel. 05807-219. The next place on the way, Secklendorf, invites you to a golf game with water hazards, sophisticated sand bunkers, and through the forest. Reserve tee time by calling Tel. 05821-98250. From Secklendorf, you return to the starting point Bad Bevensen. Here, the spa park and the iodine-saline thermal bath await you. Route note: low-traffic, asphalted roads, mostly with separate bike paths. Short inclines/declines along the way (approx. 3.5%).
