The fauna and flora of the Wesermarsch, as well as the wide view from the Geestkante over the landscape, make this signposted cycling tour a beautiful memory. Characteristic of the landscape is the Weser, which carved its way north here 180,000 years ago. Floods created nutrient-rich clay soils that were used by farmers. Early settlements were established on flood-free terraces or on the Geestkante. Today, this landscape is additionally characterized by gravel pits.
