EifelSpur Sun, Moon and Stars

The 8-kilometer long hike Eifelspur Sun, Moon and Stars leads you through the valleys of Scheckenbach and Schafbach near the National Park town of Schleiden. The flowing waters are the lifeblood of the beautiful landscape. They provide a habitat for plants and animals.
A special feature is the crayfish living in the waters here, especially the noble crayfish. Measures for renaturation included ensuring the ecological connectivity (passability) of the streams and the removal of conifers from the floodplains.
In and around the flowing waters, you will experience a unique variety of flora and fauna.
Your hike will be accompanied by the babbling of the stream and bird calls. In the summer months, the moist tall herb meadows attract numerous species of butterflies and dragonflies.
Here you will find relaxation and recovery in a diverse landscape as well as soothing natural scents.
The Eifel National Park has been designated as an International Dark Sky Park due to its low light pollution. This means that the starry sky above the Eifel shines particularly beautifully here.
