MI-MI Whispering: Star tour 2 to potts park

During this tour, the destination is Potts Park, a family amusement park for participation and wonder.

You start your tour at the tourist information in Minden and drive along Lindenstraße to ZOB until just before the so-called Simeonsplatz. On Simeonsplatz, you will find the impressive Prussian Museum, on the left side of the street you will see the former garrison hospital. Behind this building, nowadays covered with Porta sandstone, you will find the consumer center as well as some parts of the district administration. Right next door is the district administration of the Minden-Lübbecke district. On the right side of the street, a remarkable design by the Ticino architect Mario Botta follows the classicist buildings of the Prussian era - the administrative building of HARTING KGaA.

Through Simeonsglacis, you reach Bastau, a tributary of the Weser. Here runs the Weser-Bastau-Weg, which you follow westward. To cross the B61, the ring road, head south and continue along the Bastau. At the level of Hohenstaufenring, you cross the Bastau and follow the river course for a few kilometers. Via Johnstraße, you reach Dützener Weg and follow it beyond Lübbecker Straße until you turn right into Friedgartenstraße. At the end, you reach Dützener Mühle. On grinding and baking days, self-baked cakes and bread are offered there. Continue along Zechenstraße southwards, passing a branch of the Melitta Group, and turn right at this intersection into Bergkirchener Straße.

From there, you can already see Potts Park. The amusement park offers great attractions for the whole family on the former mining site. Among other things, you can experience the world from a toddler's perspective in the giant apartment and understand natural science phenomena in the permanent exhibition Terra Phänomenalis. After an eventful day, drive about 7 kilometers along the Wiehengebirge back to the city and end your day here. This tour can be done at any time of the year, but Potts Park as a destination is only open during the season.
