Durch den oberen Bürgerwald

This beautiful circular walk takes us through the upper Bürgerwald forest and then back through the Wachbach valley. On our way, we can spot gray herons that have settled in this idyllic landscape.

The starting point of our hike is the hiking parking lot, which is about 100 meters from the crossroads (where the B290 joins the B19).

We walk from the parking lot towards the intersection and take the first right.Shortly after turning right, we pass a barn. The path goes steeply uphill for quite a while. We follow the path until we reach the edge of the forest. About 30 meters after the edge of the forest turn sharp right into the Oberer Bürgerwald forest. At the next but one fork in the path, we turn right and shortly afterwards reach a bench. bench. Via the forest nature trail we can take a detour to one of the most species-rich wildlife parks in Europe.

During tour with the animal keepers, we learn a lot about the largest wolf pack living in an open-air enclosure, but also about bears, lynxes, otters and vultures. Otherwise, we cross the forest nature trail and shortly afterwards we reach the Willingertal road and the Hubertushütte. We cross the road and continue straight ahead in the direction of in the direction of Wachbach.
