Description by the author

The hike leads from the 244 meter high Haxterberg airfield over the Höllenberg around 65 meters down into the Haxtergrund, which is one of Paderborn's most popular excursion destinations close to the city, and reaches its lowest point after around 1.5 kilometers at the so-called "Stern", a path junction with a Madonna statue. Shortly after, the path continues up on the other side of the valley through the "Querholz", a beautiful beech forest. At times, there are wide views over the Paderborn plateau with its numerous wind turbines. Through the "Haxterholz" it goes down again into the Haxtergrund and then back up - passing the arboretum - to the Haxterberg.
